Airport expansion projects to enable Ukraine to handle expected demand during the Euro 2012 football tournament were summarised in October at a seminar in London.

Speaking at the event organised by UK Trade & Investment, Valeriy Zhaldak, deputy head of the Ukrainian government’s organising committee for Euro 2012, indicated that most projects are on course for completion by the scheduled deadline of 31 December 2011.

Belarus formally joined the Rapid Reaction Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) on 20 October.
